Belt Lipectomy
What’s a Circumferential Body Lift / Belt Lipectomy?
A Circumferential Body Lift, also known as a Belt Lipectomy, is an operation designed to remove the excess skin fat and tissue around your hips and waistline in the belt distribution. The width of the “belt” of tissue to be removed is dependent on the amount of extra skin and fat you have. Sometimes areas of skin and tissues resected can be as wide as ten inches. Following removal of the tissue in this “belt” distribution, upper skin and tissue is pulled down and lower skin and tissue is pulled up giving you much tighter and more youthful looking body including stomach, back, and waistline above as well as thighs, hips and buttocks bellow. An additional benefit of this operation is tightening of the fascia and muscle of the abdominal wall with the resultant flatter look of you stomach. This operation is mainly indicated for people who have excess of abdominal, flank, and also back skin. The group of patients benefiting the most from this operation is those who had a substantial weight loss either due to gastric bypass operation or diet and exercise. This operation provides dramatic and substantial improvement to your body shape.
